Anne Arum

2021 Anne largeAttended the University of Surrey and graduated in 2022, having held a Beacon Scholarship for four years. Anne, from Kenya, received two graduate job offers, and chose to work for PWC in the taxation department.

Anne graduated with a BSc in Economics and Mathematics, achieving First Class Honours. As part of her course, she completed a Professional Training Year in the tax department at Sony. She also completed her Graduate Employability Award.

Anne is keen on personal fitness, and variously attends the gym, boxes and practises yoga. She also attended Consulting Society meetings while she was at Surrey, learning to analyse case studies and improving public speaking and team-working.

An active and effective mentor, Anne supported over 100 first year students whilst at Surrey, visiting them once a week in their first and second terms. She also wrote a termly blog on the experience of being an international student at Surrey. She volunteered at the ‘New Beginnings’ homeless charity, planning and implementing a marketing strategy for them, and acted as a volunteer coach to help students obtain a range of placements.
