The Beacon Equity Trust has built partnerships to offer up to six new annual undergraduate scholarships through the following:
The Beacon Scholarship at the University of Birmingham
The University of Birmingham, is a truly global university producing world-leading research. It benefits from mutual partnerships with a wide range of international institutions and hosts a large international community of researchers and students. With over 8,700 international students from approximately 150 countries, and 31% of our academic staff from overseas, its campus is truly a diverse and global place which attracts the brightest and best international students and staff. The University offers a wide range of programmes at undergraduate level with over 350 different courses within five academic faculties.
The Beacon Scholarship at the University of Bristol
The University of Bristol, a member of the Russell Group, ranks in the top 100 institutions globally and top 10 in the UK, due to its outstanding teaching and research, superb facilities and highly talented students and staff. The University is located in the heart of the city, a leading centre for business, culture and education, with industry strength in engineering, aerospace, finance and media.
The University offers a wide range of programmes at undergraduate level within our six academic faculties. Our programmes allow students to engage in a broad learning experience with opportunities to explore innovation and enterprise, sustainable futures and global citizenship.
The Beacon Scholarship at the University of Cambridge - offered with The Cambridge Trust
The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust supports students on degree courses at The University of Cambridge. Working with partners worldwide, the Trust provides funding to students of outstanding academic merit under a variety of scholarship schemes. The University of Cambridge, founded in 1209, is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 universities in the world. It offers a wide range of undergraduate courses, exceptional facilities, highly interactive seminars, and 'supervisions', i.e. one-to-one or small group teaching sessions every week.

The Beacon Scholarship at Cardiff University
Cardiff University is a top 20 university in the UK for the overall quality of research, confirmed as world-leading or internationally excellent. The Beacon Scholarship at the London School of Economics
LSE was founded in 1895 by four leading members of the Fabian Society – Beatrice and Sidney Webb, Graham Wallas and George Bernard Shaw. The School's aim was the betterment of society, and in 1922 it adopted as its motto rerume cognoscere causas – to know the causes of things. Today it is one of the foremost social science universities in the world, with teaching and research spanning the full breadth of social sciences, from economics and politics to anthropology and geography. Situated in the heart of central London, LSE is famed for its cosmopolitan student body, drawing its students from over 145 countries worldwide.

The Beacon Scholarship at the University of Surrey
The University of Surrey is one of the UK’s top scientific and technological universities and has established itself as a top-ten university in major national university league table rankings. The university has three faculties, with a total of 22 different Schools and Departments, offering a wide variety of undergraduate degree programmes. Our beautiful campus offers students the best of both worlds: our safe, self-contained student community is just ten minutes’ walk from Guildford town centre and 34 minutes by train from London. In 2022 Surrey was named as the Times and Sunday Times ‘University of the Year for Graduate Employment’ and was ranked 9th in the National Student Survey 2022.
