Beacon at the Kenya High Commission in London - March 2024

On Friday 22 March, His Excellency Manoah Esipisu, the Kenya High Commissioner for the UK, kindly invited Beacon Scholars, Alumni, University Partners, and Beacon Staff to the Mission in central London for speeches and dinner.

This is a first for the Beacon and there were short speeches from Kreeshi Shavdia representing current Beacon Scholars, Areeg Emarah representing Beacon Alumni, and Ajay Sood Trustee.

These were followed by addresses from the High Commisioner, Amb. Edwin Afande Deputy Head of Mission, and Mr Willie Machocho Education Attaché who together with Beacon Development Director Liz George organised the function.  

We were very pleased that representatives from 4 Beacon Partner Universities were able to attend the event and meet Beacon Scholars face-to-face.

The Mission arranged for delicious Kenyan food to be served at dinner. A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all.
