Attended International School of Uganda, Kampala until June 2023. Bathyah was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in May 2021.

Bathyah graduated from ISU having completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme. A committed and motivated student, Bathyah successfully employed many useful strategies to maximize her performance in her studies, including the use of technology, journalling and flowcharts.

Bathyah enjoys music, performing and publishing her own compositions. She is also a keen artist and uses her artwork to address issues within the African community, for example she completed a piece reflecting the impact of the African diaspora on rural communities. She is also a keen badminton player and enjoys Tae Kwon Do.

Bathyah enjoys debate and was always an active member of the UGMUN at ISU, leading and organising conferences and a retreat on behalf of the school. She has also created her own podcasts, exploring and discussing topics and issues relevant to her peers.

Bathyah’s Citizenship activities have focused on supporting education and pupils at disadvantaged schools in her community. This focus has increasingly had a mental health and wellbeing angle.

In Beacon Workshops, Bathyah was noted as a skilled orator who led groups well and delegated tasks effectively.
